Job #1 for us this week was to go back and watch the Kansas City tape. There were a lot of things that we simply missed out on or we failed to do them. We spent the week In practice trying to correct some of those mistakes but you have to move on to the game against the Bucs. You can’t dwell on a loss like that because it will eat you up from the inside.
The goal for us is to get back to playing like we did in the first few weeks of the season. Our hot start was helped out by having a new offense that no one had film on. Now that teams have started to get some film on us, they have started to throw some different things at us to slow us down. It is up to us to make those adjustments so we can continue to move the ball well and score consistently.
This week against the Bucs will be an interesting match up for us. Tampa Bay made a switch at defensive coordinators a couple of weeks ago and the change is evident. At the beginning of the year, they showed a very aggressive, blitz-heavy defense. In their one game since their change at DC, we saw them not as active in blitzing as before. We honestly don’t know if that’s their identity moving forward or if they just changed because that’s what the game called for. Either way, we need to be ready for anything.
We’re ready for the Bucs and whatever they throw at us. We have an awesome group of guys and I think everyone on this team has full trust in each other and that is a huge advantage for us in any game. This is the ultimate team sport and when you have a team that is completely supporting one another you have a chance to win any game you play. See you out there Sunday.
